alucast

AluCast is an established foundry and machine shop making aluminium parts for the transport sector but has now developed a new material – ALUHP1 – which has been designed to be as strong as SG iron but more lightweight, thus reducing carbon emissions.

The company, now of more than 100 employees, is based in Wednesbury, in the heart of the Black Country, and is led by Chairman, Tony Sartorius, and a management team with a strong heritage in local industry.

AluCast were initially part of the supply chain for BoxTube on the first cohort of the Clean Futures Accelerator programme, but applied for the second year to test and demonstrate rail-based applications for their new material, including via a collaboration with GBR Rail.
