GBR Rail have developed an innovative system called ‘Cleartrak’, designed to recycle wastewater from on-train toilets and convert solid waste into dry biochar, negating the need to manage raw sewage regularly, leaving the vehicle in service for longer and more reliable.
Based in Sheffield, the company was launched in 2009 by a team with indepth experience of rolling stock maintenance, led by MD Tim Brown, and focuses on developing state of the art solutions for their sector.
GBR Rail joined the Clean Futures Accelerator programme to test and demonstrate their Cleartrak unit, which was installed as an open-view working prototype on a refurbished passenger carriage donated to the project by Angel Trains.
