Events / VLR Conference
Following on from the huge success of the inaugural event hosted by WMG in 2019, the Black Country Innovative Manufacturing Organisation (BCIMO) and its partner organisations; Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council (DMBC), Coventry City Council (CCC), WMG and RLB, are busy planning the UK’s, now annual, VLR Conference – due to take place on 27th January 2022 – with full details to be announced soon.
Seats will be limited so physical attendance will be by invitation only. However, in conjunction with our events management agency, Associate Events, we will be live streaming the event and hope that you will be able to join us online, where there will be plenty of opportunities to engage in speaker sessions.
The conference will run from 9am to 1pm and provide answers to your questions about Very Light Rail (VLR) and the future of rail-based public transport, such as:
- Why do we need VLR? What are the economic, social, and environmental benefits?
- What progress has been made to date? And by whom?
- What are BCIMO and its partners doing to develop the VLR market, technologies, and manufacturing supply chain?
- How do I find out more? Or get involved?
In the afternoon, we will also run a follow-on virtual session for local business interested in VLR and other innovative manufacturing opportunities, to learn more about BCIMO’s Black Country Programme of Innovation and how they can benefit from joining it.
27th January 2022 – Full details coming soon.
